Our 19th Annual Autumn Brunch With Auction, was held on Saturday, October 19, 2024, at the beautiful Hellenic Cultural Center in Westland. We welcomed 131 attendees as the doors opened at 9:30 a.m. with the bidding beginning and coffee and Mimosas flowing! See the pictures below!
There were 207 items up for bid - 15 of which were on the Live Auction conducted by our friend, Bill Joyner. After all was said and done, we raised just over $11,100 after expenses.
As always, we are so grateful for all the people who worked to make this event a success, including the owners and staff of the Hellenic Cultural Center. The continued generosity and dedicated support of area business people, our members, family, co-workers, neighbors, and friends keeps this event alive.

Set aside the date! We are already scheduled to hold the 20th Annual Autumn Brunch With Auction on Saturday, October 18, 2025! Tickets will be $30 for adults and $20 for 18 and under. The awesome breakfast buffet will again include Scrambled Eggs, Egg Bake, Sausage Links & Bacon, Hash Brown Potatoes, Pancakes w/ Syrup or Waffles w/ Fruit Topping & Whip Cream, Assorted Danish, Bagels w/Cream Cheese, Fresh Fruit Tray, Orange & Cranberry Juices, Coffee, Hot Tea & Iced Tea. We will be serving Mimosas!
We have funded the 2025 $1,000 Bettie Archer Johnson Scholarship at Madonna University and will fund two $2,000 Impact Scholarships for 2025 through the ABWA Stephen Bufton Memorial Educational Fund (SBMEF). Applications open up on January 1, 2025 for female Michigan residents who are 18 years old or older, U.S. citizens, pursuing a bachelor degree or higher at an accredited college or university.
We will also sponsor a candidate for the 2025 $2,000 Outright Grant program through the national Stephen Bufton Memorial Educational Fund (SBMEF.org). Receipt of the grant is not guaranteed because only one or two recipients will be chosen for our district of ABWA by the National Board of Trustees. District V includes Michigan, Ohio, Indiana, Kentucky, and West Virginia.
Novi Oaks also offers a Business Skills Tuition Reimbursement program for women taking non-college training to enhance their skills, and provides funds for members to attend regional and national ABWA conferences.
Here are some pictures of the 2024 event. Each table at the auction was hosted by a friend or member in a theme of her choice. Seeing the decorations is half the fun!
